My Favorite Not-So- Scary Halloween Movies
Confession…I don’t like scary movies. Yea, I know, that’s kinda lame. But scary movies really creep me and I end up having nightmares. Salem’s Lot was probably one of the last scary movies I watched because I was so freaked out. There is a scene in the movie where the vampire is scratching on the boys window. It just so happened that the window looked exactly as the window that was in my bedroom. Still gives me chills…
I don’t have a probably reading scary novels. Guess my mind can control how scary to make it. In fact, I’ve only been to one commercial haunted house in my life. I was 16 and a local organization put on his haunted house. This was the first and last haunted house I ever went into. It wasn’t the scary props or music that frightened me. It was the people popping out of the dark touching me and grabbing my ankles as I walked by that really scared the pants off of me. Long story short, I don’t like strangers grabbing me in the dark. Unless you’re a really hot guy.
So, here is my list of Halloweenish type movies for you to watch tonight if you are like me and don’t like to be scared.
The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
Yes, it’s a class but you gotta love it. Poor Charlie Brown…”I got a rock.” That’s equivalent to a kid getting a toothbrush today.
Witches of Eastwick
This movie is a bit corny but I find Bette Milder hilarious.
Harry Potter Series
You gotta love all of the Harry Potter movies. There is just enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat but not blood and gore.
This is a great classic movie. Gotta love Gene Wilder. Not only that but this movie is definitely quotable, “Put the candle back.”
